Weekly Review 10/13

Quotes of the week:

“There’s no difference between a pessimist who says, “Oh, it’s hopeless, so don’t bother doing anything,” and an optimist who says, “Don’t bother doing anything, it’s going to turn out fine anyway.” Either way, nothing happens.” Yvon Chouinard.

“Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.” ~ John C. Maxwell

Action packed week. Monday saw a three different Strip casinos, one for dinner, one to see Gravity in 3-D Imax (good, but not mind blowing in my opinion), and then shenanigans with a friend in town who had a cabana at Cosmo that had its own private entrance into Marquee. The view wasn’t bad either.

Dinner with Kairos Fellows Tuesday, Qualifyor Graduation, Life is Beautiful Town Hall, Zubin doing his thing at Speaker Series, no Wednesday night soccer, super late game tonight, volunteering Downtown and posing with the mayor (which had more media than volunteering), got transported by a tourist bus, went to Atomic for the first time, and pondered about how unproductive I am during weekends during football season.

Volunteering

1) Blog consistently.
This counts, right? Though I wrote 3 food reviews to sort of catch up?

2) Get outdoors.
Skipped a Charleston hike. Maybe next week.

3) Continue to make my position evolve.
Check, for now.

4) Read more.
Finished Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul. Working through Crisis Tales.

5) Stay in touch with people better.
Talked to Adelaide, Amber, and Ariana.

6) Finish up my obligations in Chapel Hill.
Two papers in for review. One more will be coming after. And a poster got accepted for a conference in Australia.

7) Run the half or full marathon in Las Vegas this November.
Don’t think I’ll be running… Oops? But am getting a workout everyday.

8) Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
Check. Though with my morning exercises, I’m waking up before 7 even when I don’t have to…
