Quote of the week: “I told you all, I’m a hiker, not a rock climber. Man, y’all gotta admit you don’t see too many brothers up here.” Said the 50-ish year old African American gentleman from Arkansas upon reaching end of Angel’s Landing.
Another solid week. Went to the Life Is Beautiful line-up release party, got tix to the festival, saw a great concert there, won trivia, was there with friends who won the white elephant prize, Brazilian Steakhouse Wednesday, forgot to wish my parents a happy 30th anniversary the day of said event (sorry Mom and Dad, but I did remember eventually? And congrats again!), froyo with friends, crazy work nonsense finally coming together, overnight trip to Zion, did Angel’s Landing for the first time, hiked part of the Narrows, got home in time to hit up Streats and enjoy some good company, and got to catch up on household chores for the first time in weeks today. And maybe write and read some more over the rest of today? Shocking.
1) Blog consistently.
Hoping to get some posts hammered out today. A free Sunday with no traveling? Odd.
2) Get outdoors.
Zion (again)! Did Angel’s Landing for the first time and hiked part of the Narrows.
3) Continue to make my position evolve.
Work in progress.
4) Read more.
Finished Nudge and The End of Leadership. Working on The Future.
5) Stay in touch with people better.
Talked to Ariana. And spent a last-ish hurrah trip with Kelly.
6) Finish up my obligations in Chapel Hill.
Holding pattern.
7) Run the half or full marathon in Las Vegas this December.
Still didn’t catch up on sleep. Which is my excuse. But all that hiking has to count for something, right?
8) Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
Again, failed miserably. I blame it on camping and good company.
