Quotes of the week:
“The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance – it is the illusion of knowledge.” Daniel J. Boorstin
“Perhaps the history of Errors of mankind, all things considered, is more valuable and interesting than that of their discoveries. Truth is uniform and narrow; it constantly exists, and does not seem to require so much an active energy, as a passive aptitude of soul in order to encounter it. But error is endlessly diversified; it has no reality, but is the pure and simple creation of the mid that invents it. In this field, the soul has room enough to expand herself, to display all her boundless faculties, and all her beautiful and interesting extravagancies and absurdities” Benjamin Franklin
Low key week for the most part. Most interesting thing that happened was I went to Cincinnati for Bangamela and saw a lot of people that I hadn’t seen in a while, including some cousins that I hadn’t seen in years. Also, I’m sort of an uncle. In English terms, I think she’s technically my first cousin once removed. In Bengali terms, I’m her mama. Odd. Also got to hang out with the VFA Cincinnati folks, which was a treat. Good times overall, despite yet another eastbound red eye.
1) Blog consistently.
Still have a completion problem. 5ish pieces in the works. Got the TFA one back to do some revisions. I’ve been reading a lot instead.
2) Get outdoors.
No outdoors. City bound.
3) Continue to make my position evolve.
Making moves and progress! Mostly in the positive direction.
4) Read more.
Got sort of through House of Cards, finished Risk Intelligence, finished Giving by Bill Clinton, working on The Art of Thinking Clearly.
5) Stay in touch with people better.
Talked to Ariana and Sumona. Also saw Raka, Munia, and Sudipto for the first time in years. Also Medha and Broti. Should family be included in this category?
6) Finish up my obligations in Chapel Hill.
Still happily twiddling my thumbs.
7) Run the half or full marathon in Las Vegas this November.
This week. Game time.
8) Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
Also didn’t happen. This travel life style is getting a little draining…
