Quotes of the week:
“An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field.” Niels Bohr
“I can’t give you a surefire formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.” Howard Bayard Swope
Another crazy busy week, UNLV is coming Downtown (finally), had the showcase for Progression Labs which went really well, had a mild panic attack when I went down to my garage and couldn’t find my car #downtownproblems, went to another Zappos All Hands (was a good one, but my least favorite one of all the ones I have been to so far), dinner at Poppy Den again with Hina and Carissa which was much better than the first time around, went swing dancing (sort of), frisbee, reading, revising, played mini-golf, did some scrambling at Red Rock, and am about to head to soccer. Not a bad week.
1) Blog consistently.
This counts, right?
2) Get outdoors.
Went scrambling on the Calico Tanks.
3) Continue to make my position evolve.
Check, for now.
4) Read more.
Finished Freefall and The Art of Happiness At Work.
5) Stay in touch with people better.
Talked to Chelsea and Amber.
6) Finish up my obligations in Chapel Hill.
Got the final revision before submitting for review! Now I need to look over it.
7) Run the half or full marathon in Las Vegas this November.
Don’t know if the actual running will happen because I’m cheap. But have definitely gotten into an exercise routine which is good.
8) Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
Done. I think. Minus a morning I drove a friend to the airport at stupid early o’clock.
What does sort-of swing dancing entail?
Getting there midway through the class, and not knowing what a basic step was, and then not actually dancing. 😛
But I’m going to a class tonight!
This is so exciting! We can go dancing next time you’re in town. 🙂
James and I are taking a lindy hop class right now. The first class was a little slow, since we both know lindy already, but it should pick up!
I’ve created a monster…
Yep. You should never have told me about swing class if you didn’t want me to bug you about going dancing.
