Quote of the week: “Once you begin to acknowledge random acts of kindness, both the ones you have received and the ones you have been given, you can no longer believe what you do does not matter.” Dawna Markova
Streak of good weeks came to an end unfortunately. I think the shit hit the fan in almost every facet of my work life and some facets of my personal life. But, thankfully, everything worked out in the end. Nothing too exciting happened to recap. But I did get lunch with a few people I’d been meaning too. Had a relaxing weekend in Las Vegas for a change (first full weekend here in almost 2 months) despite the record breaking heat. And celebrated some birthdays of good friends.
1) Blog consistently.
Got some pieces in the works.
2) Get outdoors.
Anyone trying to get outdoors around Las Vegas in this heat is a crazy person.
3) Continue to make my position evolve.
Had some really good, promising conversations. Hopeful about changing this in one direction. Though it still isn’t the direction I’m quite shooting for.
4) Read more.
Finished the Walmart Effect. Haven’t decided what to read next.
5) Stay in touch with people better.
Talked to Ariana, Lindsay, Sumona, and Rachel.
6) Finish up my obligations in Chapel Hill.
I actually need to follow up on this.
7) Run the half or full marathon in Las Vegas this November.
Still recovering. But might start next week.
8) Get 7 hours of sleep a night.
I actually did this! Which probably helped the recovery.
